Comprehensive Spending Review – Key Rural Concerns

Last week the Government announced a one-year Spending Review for 2020, the long- term spending review being abandoned in favour of a short term approach to prioritise the response to Covid-19 and a focus on supporting jobs. There are some multi-year commitments, however The Rural Services Network is examining the announcements in more detail, and the consequences of decisions in this review will only become apparent when more detail is released by the Government. – including the Provisional Finance Settlement for Local Government due in December
