Rural Lens Review of Heat and Buildings Strategy

Published on 19th October, the Governments Heat and Buildings Strategy sets out its plan to significantly cut carbon emissions from the UK’s 30 million homes and workplaces in a simple, low-cost and green way whilst ensuring this remains affordable and fair for households across the country. The first ever Countryside COP was convened to showcase and inspire net zero activity in rural communities in response to climate change

3,835 UK Schools are in Postcodes with No Access to Full Fibre

New data from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and Schools Minister, Robin Walker MP (Con), has revealed that 3,835 schools are in postcodes “that do not have access” to full fibre broadband connectivity “or are currently not in areas of proposed commercial build within the next five years”

New member wins prestigious conservation award

The Godolphin Cross Community Association, who joined the Rural Services Network as a member last week, has gained well deserved recognition for the best conservation of an historic building by being awarded the 2021 World Heritage Site Award, a county wide competition for buildings in the Cornish Mining area.
