Reed in Partnership delivers a number of employment support and healthy living services in rural areas across the UK for central and local government
They are carrying out a research project looking at how best to support disadvantaged groups in rural areas into the labour market. Their research project is focusing on the following questions:
- What are the biggest barriers facing people from disadvantaged groups in rural areas in finding the right job for them?
- Are there specific barriers for particular groups (such as disabled people, those with long-term health conditions or single parents) in accessing employment?
- How can employment support services best meet the challenges of rural delivery?
- What can we learn from good practice and innovation (such as the use of technology, integrated public services) about how best to support jobseekers in rural areas?
They would be very interested to hear the views of community groups, local authorities and other rural stakeholders on these questions. They are keen to gather examples of effective approaches.
