Plans to increase the number of Starter Homes in the countryside may be useful – but Government must consider any wider implications first, says the Rural Services Network.

The Rural Services Network has welcomed a £4m increase in government funding for local authorities working with countryside communities but warned that it makes little difference to the financial injustice which rural authorities have suffered for years.

LOCAL communities will suffer under government plans that will reduce the amount of affordable housing in the countryside, England’s largest rural network has warned.
