A new survey by the charity Independent Age has revealed that chronic under-funding of social care means that older people are ‘increasingly let down’ by the system.
During a survey of 2,000 English adults, 74% support free personal care for those who need it, to help with getting dressed, cooking or shopping. 69% of respondents then said they would be willing to pay more tax to cover the increased personal cost charges.
