Room151 published an article on the risk that local government reorganisation could marginalise rural communities. The article referenced comments from Kerry Booth, Chief Executive of the Rural Services Network, on the need to ensure that rural areas are not weakened or overlooked through changes to council boundaries and structures.

Kerry Booth, Chief Executive of the Rural Services Network, was interviewed by the Country Land and Business Association for its 15 Minutes With… podcast series. The episode explored the provision and rollout of rural services, fair funding, rural proofing, devolution, and the importance of ensuring rural communities are properly considered in national policy.
13 April 2026 – UK Parliament
During a House of Commons debate on Pride in Place and community spaces, the Rural Services Network was referenced alongside Plunkett UK in relation to concerns that villages and rural communities risk being left behind. The contribution raised the importance of ensuring that rural areas are not excluded from community funding and local asset support.

9 April 2026 – Shropshire Council
Shropshire Council published an article using new analysis from the Rural Services Network, which highlighted a growing and structural funding gap between Shropshire, comparable rural councils and the national average. The article set out the impact of future funding changes on Shropshire and included graphs from RSN’s analysis on Government funding per head.
