About Community Catalysts

Community Catalysts is a social enterprise that creates opportunities for people to thrive in healthy, caring communities. We work to ensure people can get the care and support they need in ways, times and places that suit them, with a real choice of attractive local options. We know that one size never fits all, so everything we do is bespoke.

Community Micro-enterprise Development

We help passionate people across the country to use their talents to start and run small enterprises and community businesses that support and care for other local people.. They create good local jobs, keep money in the local economy and help people live a good life. We use our expertise to help communities, organisations, local authorities and policy makers to deliver the transformational change in services or systems needed to make this a reality.

Small Good Stuff

Community Catalysts runs Small Good Stuff, a directory of small, local care and support services, which connects people who are seeking care and support in local areas with others who can help.. Small Good Stuff also helps small organisations that offer care or support by providing them with information, publicity and access to a friendly network.

Local Area Coordination

Community Catalysts is the home of Local Area Coordination learning and development in England and Wales. Local Area Coordination is a practical, assets-based approach that is being adopted by a growing number of local authorities and health partners. Our Local Area Coordination Network works with new sites to develop Local Area Coordination and supports existing members to tackle common challenges and build on a shared vision, principles and values.

Family and Group Conferencing for Adults

Community Catalysts is the host of the Family and Group Conferencing for Adults Research and Practice Network, supporting organisations to embed the approach in their context. Family and Group Conferencing (FGC) offers an inclusive process where people can plan for their support and/or recovery on their own terms, alongside family, friends and other people that matter to them.
