The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Rural Services is a cross party Group of MP’s from rural constituencies that come together around 4 times a year to promote debate on the provision of rural services and to issue periodic reports.
A meeting of the APPG in January 2026 established the APPG’s leadership team. Sarah Dyke, Liberal Democrat MP for Glastonbury and Somerton, was voted as Chair, Sam Rushworth, Labour MP for Bishop Auckland, was elected Vice Chair, while Caroline Voaden, Liberal Democrat MP for South Devon was appointed Treasurer. Dr. Kieran Mullan, Conservative MP for Bexhill and Battle, was chosen as Secretary, ensuring representation across the political spectrum.
The register entry for the group can be viewed here.
The Rural Services Network established this Group and provides all the secretariat services.
The APPG gives organisations that provide rural services the opportunity to put their issues and ideas directly to MPs who pass the information on to Ministers. This Group has recently been helpful in getting the Government to re-consider the funding formula for Local Government.
