Our Purpose
The Rural Services Network (RSN) is the national champion for rural services in England and the only organisation solely dedicated to representing rural service providers at a national level.
As a Special Interest Group of the Local Government Association (LGA), representing rural councils, RSN champions the rights, needs and potential of rural communities across England.
Our mission is clear: to secure fair access to services, resources and opportunities for rural residents and ensure rural communities are never an afterthought in national policy or decision-making.
We believe that every person, in every place, deserves the chance to flourish, and that thriving rural communities are essential to a strong and balanced national economy
RSN is a membership organisation with a powerful and diverse network of over 450 local authorities, public service providers and rural organisations. By listening to our members and amplifying their voices, we ensure rural priorities are heard at the highest levels of government and national debate.
We actively shape policy and influence decision-making through key national partnerships, including:
- Secretariat for the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Rural Services, helping drive rural debate in Westminster
- Rural Coalition
- DEFRA Rural Impact Forum
- National Rural Crime Network
- National Alliance for Cultural Services
Through advocacy, collaboration and strategic engagement with government, Parliament and national partners, RSN works to influence policy, strengthen rural service delivery and ensure rural communities across England can thrive.
