Speaking at Events

If you would like to present at one of our events please contact events@sparse.gov.uk. RSN events are a great way to share best practice, learn from others in the Network and raise your profile.

INVITE US TO SPEAK

The RSN is keen to ensure that rural policy is discussed at the highest level. We want to raise the profile of the challenges facing rural communities and service providers, and the solutions and policy interventions that would enable our rural communities to thrive.

Our Chief Executive, is available to speak and share her expertise about rural Policy.

Kerry Booth is a nationally recognised advocate for England’s rural communities. As Chief Executive of the Rural Services Network (RSN), she leads strategic efforts to ensure that rural areas are fairly represented in policy and funding decisions. With nearly two decades of experience in local government and rural policy, Kerry brings deep insight into the everyday realities faced by rural councils and communities – from health and transport access to economic development and environmental planning.

Kerry is a respected voice in national discussions on rural service delivery. She leads RSN’s work as the secretariat for the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Rural Services, helping to shape rural debates in Westminster. She also represents RSN on influential groups such as the Rural Coalition, DEFRA’s Rural Impact Forum, the National Rural Crime Network, and the National Alliance for Cultural Services.

Kerry is a confident and engaging public speaker, having contributed to a range of national conferences, policy roundtables, and sector events. She brings clarity, practical experience, and passion to discussions, offering a grounded perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing rural communities.

She speaks on a wide range of rural issues, including:

  • Rural fair funding and public service delivery
  • Economic growth and support
  • Planning, housing, and sustainable rural development
  • Health and social care in remote communities
  • Rural transport, mobility and connectivity
  • Digital inclusion and broadband access
  • Rural roles in achieving net zero and climate goals

Kerry is passionate about creating opportunities for collaboration and often uses speaking engagements to foster dialogue and spark new ideas. Her talks balance data, policy insight, and real-world stories from rural communities.
