The Government’s Levelling-Up and Regeneration Bill was discussed again in the House of Lords this week and this time the issue of rural featured heavily.
The Government’s housing and regeneration agency unveiled its next five-year Strategic Plan on the 16th of May, setting out how it will support communities and families by enabling the delivery of more good quality, affordable homes alongside the regeneration of towns and cities across England.
The 17th January saw the House of Lords debate the second reading of the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill
The Rural Services Network is the national champion for rural services and works to ensure that rural have a strong voice. We therefore have submitted evidence to the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill Committee as the bill works its way through Parliament.
The Levelling-up and Regeneration Bill was published and given its first reading on 12 May 2022. place from 2024, once the Bill has Royal Assent and associated regulations and changes to national policy are in place”. Alongside the Bill a Further Information Document was also published which is the main document the RSN is commenting on in this Rural Lens Review.
